The base is what makes pavers last
Pavers look great on day one no matter who installs them. Whether they stay flat for 20 years depends on what is underneath: how deep the dig goes, how well the base rock is compacted and how the edges are locked in.
We dig out the old surface, put down and compact a road-base layer, screed the bedding sand, lay the pavers and lock them with edge restraints and polymeric sand. Driveways get a deeper base than patios because they carry cars.

Pavers flex with the ground instead of cracking, and a damaged section can be lifted and replaced. Concrete costs less up front. We price both when you are deciding.
With a proper compacted base, 25 years or more. Most paver problems come from a thin or poorly compacted base, which is why we never skip that step.
Sometimes, for a patio with sound concrete and enough height at the doors. For driveways we usually remove the concrete so the base can be built correctly.
Lighter colors stay noticeably cooler than dark ones or asphalt. We show you samples in the sun before you choose.
We finish the joints with polymeric sand, which hardens and blocks most weeds and ants.
